I moved to Sweden last year, so it's really great feeling that this year my story about the amazing boy Ismail Zulfic has been nominated for the most prestigious award for photojournalists in Sweden. The jury of the Swedish picture of the year next to my story has nominated two other stories in the category Reportage of the year.
I have received another prestigious international award for photography, I am so happy for this opportunity to promote this inclusive story, the amazing boy Ismail Zulfic, the people around him and the Spid swimming club, around the world.
Members of the IPA 2020 jury, out of over 13,000 entries from 120 countries worldwide, recognized this story as the third-best story in the Editorial/ Press/Sports category.

Thank you all for coming and following all rules!
During these strange times of the virus, it is important to remain close to each other socially, but at the same time, it is important to have physical distance and to follow the rules so we could still have events like this in the future.
The exhibition "The Soul of Srebrenica" was opened in the Jeliceva Photo Gallery on July 10, 2020. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. All the photos were taken during my long photojournalism career, while I was working on stories about the Srebrenica tragedy and the consequences of the genocide.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.
The Soul of Srebrenica is full of sleepless nights, silence, sobs, sorrow, pain, suffering, hope, struggle, courage, strength, defiance and dignity.
You can visit the exhibition until August 10, 2020.

Photo “Champion” has been selected as a Best photo at the 15th BETA’S PHOTOGRAPH OF THE YEAR. I am so happy that members of jury recognized my work and the importance of this story.
Photo “Champion” is a story about six-year-old boy Ismail Zulfic. He was born without arms and with a deformed foot into a society that often neglects and marginalizes people with disabilities. But his parents and an inspirational coach have helped him overcome his physical limitations and a fear of water. In 2017, after one year of training, he won a gold medal at a regional competition in Zagreb, Croatia.
Members of the jury at Balkan Photo Award 2017 selected my work in the best 5 photos in the category Sport.
My work has been nominated for The 8th Annual Best of RFE/RL Awards 2017. Each year RFE/RL’s Editorial Board celebrates the greatest journalistic achievements in breaking news coverage, reporting, features, videos, and photography within its 25 Language Services.
I was invited to be a guest speaker during the Summer school at the BTK Faculty of Arts and Design in Berlin, Germany.
As a child, I was a refugee in Berlin for one year. There was nothing wrong with Berlin but my family just wanted to return to home in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Who would have thought that after so many years and with this intention I would come back to Berlin.
Thank you all for coming to the opening of the photo exhibition "Transition"!
It was also wonderful to have Ron Haviv as a guest speaker at this event. Thanks for your support.
The photo exhibition "Transitions" is at the Skenderija Bridge (Eiffel Bridge) until July 10, 2017. Curated by the Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC) & Art Works Projects.
It was a big challenge to be part of this project and to show the Transition of Bosnia and Herzegovina. There, you can see also photos that show the transition of other countries from the angle of brilliant photographers Juan Arredondo (Colombia), Martin Lukongo (Democratic Republic of Congo), and Sophia Nahla Allison (USA) #Sarajevo, #Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Big thanks to all people who were part of this project, especially Leslie Thomas.
The master of printing from the Blackbox art&print Sarajevo, Srecko Hrkac, holds a panel with my photographs that will be shown at the exhibition "Transitions", which is part of the WARM festival program 2017.
This is just a part of the photos you can see at Skenderija Bridge (Eiffel's Bridge) on Saturday, July 1, at 5 pm. There will be also photos that show the transition of other countries from the angle of brilliant photographers Juan Arredondo (Colombia), Martin Lukongo (Democratic Republic of Congo), and Sophia Nahla Allison (USA)
